Peke or pug----both have breathing problems. Easy mistake to make when you have two ruined breeds to choose from.

Very sad, someone makes a mistake remembering an unhealthy dog begining with a p
We all know what they ment
But rather than face up to the fact that the winning dog was so unhealthy it is far better to try and divert attention by ridiculing her

Dosent change the fact the dog was unhealthy

This is what happens though. 'Show people' (at least their representatives on this forum), are completely blinkered and either cannot or will not accept that there is any problem with any breed.

That is why the programme was needed. The KC were not willing to look the problems in the face, they had to be pushed into it.

Is that right from what I can see, most show folk (and their representatives on this forum) are well aware there are problems in ALL breeds, hence is why they collect data and work toward eradicating any ailments in their breeds.

I have no blinkers on concerning my own breed, I know ALL the problems, and I also know what work is being done to eradicate them...

And from many of my friends with other breeds , they to are far from blinkered.

BM said the Peke was unhealthy , asking what she meant is not akin to wearing blinkers or unwilling to see any problems..
