Class 23 ~ Child's Best Friend

Welcome to class 23 Child's Best Friend

Childs Best Friend

Junior handling Class

Entry to Childs Best Friend is open to all breeds and mixes, and will require dogs in Show Pose.

Our Judge for this class is
Claireanddaisy

Our Judge for this Juniors class will be looking for handlers stacking or free standing their dog in a show pose as proficiently as they can

The privacy of children is very important so please blank out your Junior handlers visual identity by blurring the face or cropping photos suitably.

Entries submitted in which children can be identified will not be posted, if anyone needs help to mask a face please approach someone you trust to do this for you

Our Judge is going to be considering handling skill, hence the dogs breed or mix is immaterial for this class.

Excellent examples of what to aim for as a Show type pose are here in the entry threads for the class below :
Gundog AV Large and Gundog AV Medium

Entries will be initially split by handler age catagories :
Under 10 Years of age (Group A)
and
10 years + 1 day to 16 Years of age. (Group B)

Three juniors from each age group will be chosen for the final six and then placed.

To be eligible for this class, members putting forward a Junior handler must be the parent / guardian of the child or must have parental / guardian permission if the entrant is a grandchild / niece / nephew - entries will be accepted on this basis in trust for this point

One dog per Junior handler only please

*****************

How To Submit your entries
you need to 'create a new thread' in post your entries here

Please head your thread with the class name Child's Best Friend and which group you wish to enter A or B and in the post include:

The Dog’s Name(s)
The Dog's Breed (or cross, or 'bitza' if unknown)
Handlers Age
Handlers Name

Please do not post your entries in this thread - they will be moved from the 'post entries here' section for you

Please be patient if your entries do not appear immediately (but contact me if you should have concerns that your entry has been missed)

*****************

For the awards posted for public view, the submitted pictures will be used.

Once the winners are announced, if any of them would like a certificate to display at home with the childs face showing [ if blanked out ], those winners can pm the Show Sec with the original picture and they will then be sent a copy privately to print out.
Alternatively, if winners have suitable software they can of course simply overlay their original photo onto their publicly posted award for their family keepsake :smt001

I hope the timing of this class will help take the sting off youngsters going back to school after their Summer holidays, but do of course ask that the Junior Handlers finish their homework before practising their dog handling skills for their photo

To give people time to create their entry, this class will run over two full weekends and will close on
28/09/2011

Good luck to all our Dogsey Juniors,

Sorry to write on here, but does it have to be show poses? Couldn't it be kids getting dogs to so other things aswell, interacting with the dogs giving them commands or doing something like agility? Its just that although some kids may not get dogs into show stances, there are many that interact with them in other ways that could be fun to see?
