Go to the ''Thule'' website , look up the note and get the part numbers...
Halfords will sell them or can get them for you...
If you go down the ebay route make sure the bars and fitting kit are sealed and brand new...
The roof box depends on what size you want , look at thule ,halfords...
Good luck .

I used to have a Thule roofbox for my Ford Focus as the whole of my back was caged out for the dogs so I needed the box for "stuff".

FWIW think about how much you want to carry, and remember it does not matter if you do not have enough to FILL it, but it DOES matter if you have too much!

If you have a smaller one make sure that the box is over the PASSENGER side so you can fill and empty it from a SAFE place.

Large ones need cantral positioning.

ps BEWARE HIGH WINDS when you decide to open it!

thanks both and smokeybear i never even thought of that as a safety factor. we think we will need a large box as taking my mum and dog on holiday next year and will only have the boot space. have been looking at boxes that are 300litres + as they say they are the equivilant of a large boot and i dont do light when i go away.....

more advice welcome

We hired a roof box from our local car parts shop for our wedding, it cost £60 for 8 days. We'd spent enough on the holiday so didn't want to buy one although you can buy a decent one for £150..i too would go to halfords to get their help rather than get a cheapie off the internet.

If you hire one the first time you can get an idea, the lads at the shop were great with us and really helpful, so we knew it was safe..better had have been, it had my £2grand wedding dress in it and we travelled 500 miles with it to our venue!
