Wind beneath my wings - Bette Midler

Growing up I always thought my brother was my mum's favourite. One year he bought me a musical box which played Wind Beneath My Wings and I realised it wasn't the case.

Not sure if it was a Coldplay track I know it had the line when the drugs don't work which was so true for him.

The main one for me is thank you for the days Gorden did a lovely video of Ollie and me and put this track to the video can't listen to it at the moment even thinking about it reduces me to tears.
Lynne i think that track is by The Verve its is called the drugs don't work

Another song that makes me feel quite emotional is by Luther Vandross - Dance With My Father Again, i'm not into Luther but this song has lovely words

Ice (instrumental guitar piece) by Camel makes me emotional.

Bright Eyes because it reminds me of the animals I've lost, especially this bit, "Bright eyes how can you close and fail, how can the light that burned so brightly suddenly burn so pale?"

The theme to Schindler's List gets me too.

There are more.

"The Rose" ,by Bette Midler-love the words and the tune
I want that at my funeral-not planning on going yet though!

"Danny Boy"-my dad used to sing it when I was a kid and we played it at the end of my mums funeral

Also an instrumental called "Bilitis"-dont know if anyone knows it-its beautiful
When I was a teacher,my friend and I used to "produce" the Easter Play and we played this when Jesus was carrying his cross
All the parents were crying-its very moving
My friend died suddenly from a brain tumour-this always reminds me of her-she was a lovely person

On a lighter note-I asked her where she had found this music-and she told me it was from an erotic film!!!
(Dont think she was joking)
Good job the Parish Priest didnt know that -as Im sure we could have both been sacked!!!!!

The hymn "Abide with me", which was written by the vicar of our local church in 1847.
Two reasons; when it is sung at the cup final etc it somehow makes me feel very proud, and then some idiot causes a riot!
It was played at both my parents funerals

Auld lang syne

Just so sad thinking of all those loved and lost over the years.

When we used to go out new years eve, I usually made an excuse to go to the loo before it started and didn't emerge until I was sure it was over. Surprising how many others did the same
