Modern positive training, point me in the right direction

hi i would like your help to find the best book/trainer or someone to google, on the modern dog training compared to the old pack theory dominance thing.
I have ordered Dog Training: The Gentle Modern Method David Weston. from amazon, it was a penny. but i thought i would ask you guys for a good book before spending money.
I like detail, explanations the way dogs think more in depth stuff than sit treat lay treat, im well past that, i dont want to teach my dog to be a dancer, just interested in the morden compared to the old and most people on dogsey are much more knowledgeable on this than me, i liked a vid on here of a dog that liked to steal food from sides and with some clicker the dog saw it as a job to not eat the food, compare that to punish the dog for stealing, these are the sort of comparisons i want to see, and from a good source.
so what book or person would you recommend,

Both good but, perhaps, a little simplistic.

Yes it is basic, but that`s what I like. If you have the basics, you can work out the rest yourself.

The beauty of both the Culture Clash and Don't Shoot the dog is that they are simple, to read and grasp and don't bog down the reader with unnecessary jargon (unlike say Burch and Bailey in How dogs Learn)

Anything by Jean Donaldso and Karen Pryor.

Learning About Dogs is centre of excellence in the UK for clicker training and as well as training workshops and seminars they also have lots of books and DVDs for sale, many of them by the proprietor Kay Laurence.
