2011 Virtual Show

Well 2010 is nearly over so I'm looking ahead to next years' show.

Show Organisation
As you may have noticed, I'm not around as much as I used to be - work is very busy and likely to remain so.

Although I'm still willing to run the show, I'm aware that I'm not giving it the full attention that it deserves.

So....if there is anyone who is interested in either taking over completely or in helping out (e.g. running some of the classes etc) please let me know.

Judges
I'll be looking for a new list of judges for next year's show please. Fresh start, so it doesn't matter if you have judged this year.

Ideas for New classes
If anyone has any ideas for classes they would like to see which haven't been run this year, please feel free to make suggestions.

Well the full role is as follows:
  • Deciding what classes are run and when and what rules will apply (although in many cases I just use the same wording as for previous years)
  • Arranging judges and explaining to them what they have to do and when
  • Creating the threads for the entries
  • copying each entry from the 'post entries here' section to the class thread, making sure that each entry has given the correct information (e.g. breed, age etc.). Recording which entry is what post so that you have the details for the rewards.
  • Closing the class at the right time and asking the judge to start judging.
  • Get the results from the judge and prepare all the virtual rosettes (in photoshop, then upload to photobucket)
  • pass on the rosettes to the judge and open a 'winners' thread.
  • keep a record of which classes have been run and who has already judged
  • Update the 'winners' thread (which I haven't done in ages, but will do before the end of the year).

But most of this can be broken down into smaller jobs as and when people want to help. The only difficulty is that ideally helpers shouldn't enter the classes, just to try and keep it 'arms length'. We can have people helping out now and again, but it means constantly changing access rights to the 'post entry here' section and editting rights etc..

Thanks - have a look at the list above and see if any of the duties appeal to you.

its been a long while since I had a pup but something tells me that no, you won't have a huge amount of spare time But I'll put you down for a judge (probably later in the year).
