RIP Bert

Can't quite believe i'm doing this about a month after the last post but RIP to my sister's second dog Bert.

As some of you might remember i posted about Bess (staffy) dying a month ago and leaving behind Bert the Rottie. Well shortly after Bess died my sister noticed a lump on Bert and took him to the vets and he was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen. He was 10 yrs old and there was little that could be done for him. He was fine in himself although he was pining for his companion Bess. He lived on for a month but gradually got worse and sadly yesterday they made the difficult decision to have him put to sleep.

He was a cracking dog and an incredibly fine example of the breed in his appearance but also his fantastic nature so RIP Bert, I will miss you loads as will Monty.

Thanks everyone. My sister said it was so much harder this time round as Bess went in her sleep but with Bert they had to make the decision and when they got him in the car he thought he was going for a walk so she said it was tough.

I can't imagine how tough it would be to say goodbye to a dog like that.
