I hope she is ok.

Can I just say sedation and xrays seem extreme for a dog that has only been sick. Surely they would just give her something to stop her being sick, rehydrate her if nec and see how she goes? No loose motions, no straing to go, just seems like an upset tummy?

She hasn't been sick, she is in a lot of pain and hasn't eaten or pooped for 2 days (this is the 3rd day)

Hi Bev

Saw your post on HW

Sorry to hear that Shady isn't well, hope the vets manage to find out what's wrong with her and you can relax again.

Thanks Lynn
I thought she was sick bile? Anyhow, sounds just like my Tarn was a couple weeks ago, he was in a lot of pain, his tummy was hard and he was sick a few times. He was put on a drip as he dehydrated quickly, and given pain relief, anti biotics and a drug (metoclopramide) to stop him being sick. He made a full recovery. bloods were done, they showed raised liver enzymes consistent with the drugs he already takes, the levels lowered a week later on retesting.

Hope its nothing serious for Shady.
