Does Kibble....

Go off?

I bought a big bag which I expect will last a couple of months if not more, but now I'm not sure if it will go off before then? (It's Burns)

Hi i dont think it should go of just keep it closed after use thats what i do and mine has stayed nice and fresh

It will be ok as Bluemerle Lover says as long as it is closed over. You could also buy a food bin and pour the food into that.

Yeah I dont think you'll have any probs if you keep it in the bag and close it or in a food bin you can close.

carole, what type of food bin do you use??...I am using lots of tupperware containers at the moment!...But because I buy at least 15kg a time, I have lots of containers all over the place and I would really like to find one large container with a sealable lid...Do you use one like that??

Myschievous: I had a beer tub that I got from boots about 5 years ago that would be ideal for storing kibble since you could properly seal it. It held about 30 liters of water. I'm not sure boots still do beer making gear though.

myschievous Im still looking for a food bin I use clips at the moment to seal the bag.

If not, just buy one of those kitchen bins, that the lid sits on (not a swing bin)

It is my understanding that the oils in kibble can start going rancid if it is not properly stored and is left for too long. All kibble here has a use-by date on the bags.
