Looking for trick inspiration

I would love to do more trick training with Jago, we mostly work on obedience training but it can get a bit repetitive and boring. I am soooo unimaginitive and am looking for some trick ideas, as well as info on how to teach them. Can anyone provide some good links or ideas?

I taught Obi to wipe his face. If you puffed on his nose he would wipe it with his paw, each time he did it I treated it then added 'wipe your face'. He is really good at it now and it looks sweet

How about weave walking? Start with the dog at heel and then take big step forward and lure the dog through the gap between your legs with a treat. Have a treat in both hands so you can take another big step and lure the dog back through again. Reward after every step and then every other step and so on until you can go across the room.

Walking backwards. Start close to a wall, with the dog between you and the wall. Hold the treat in front of the dog and then take a step back, when the dog moves back to follow the treat praise and treat. Again build it up slowly , one step, two steps etc. and add the word

Walking behind you. Hold lead and treat behind your back and praise when dog follows. Once he's following add a word. This is a useful one for the times when you're out and you see another dog approaching that you don't feel sure of.

Look at canineconcepts.co.uk and click on training, tricks...you may have to click around the site a bit to get there but they have some ideas.

Enjoy

That's a fantastic list!!! A fair few I'd love to teach Jago. Did you teach them using your own methods or did you learn how to teach them from somewhere?

I used to do HTM with a group of friends, we started by watching a video from Richard Curtis, then we had him come down for a training day and it went from there. If you want me to try to explain how I taught any of them just pmail me.

No so much of a trick but still very impressive. I saw a hot dog retrieve in Karen Pryor's site and we've are now training a chicken leg retrieve.
