Meal planning?

Okay simple question here....

How far ahead do you plan your meal menu...

On the day?

A week ahead?

A month?

And do you shop with that menu in mind or do you fix the menu around what you fancy?

Karen

I'm rubbish at planning meals and have got really cross with keeping on buying stuff and then throwing it out when it goes out of date.

This week i planned what i was going to cook and then acutally did it!!

I really must be more strict with myself!!!

I don't think i could plan in advance what i was going to eat on what day, but i planned to have certain meals at some point in the week.

When i stay with my parents my dad often asks me in the morning what i would like for tea that evening........i have no idea usually! I'm usually just starting to think about breakfast!

See thats what I've found I shop and then see soemthing fancy but don't always eat it and find myself throwing it away............so decided to get strict with myself, and do a little planning.

Hence asking for you input.

We're both in the same boat then! Time to get strict with ourselves!

I found a good way to start was to have a look at some new recipies that i might fancy giving a go...it did seem to work, no idea how long i will keep it up though !

Plan on tomorrow writing a list of what I have in the freezer (as not certain) and then working from there...and doing a weeks sort of menu (roughly) so I can swap and change ne day if needed.....(as I can change my mind on dinner)
Then shop accordingly..........should also help save money as throwing less (hopefuly none away)

Tell you I plan on saving myself money and not wasting food and having a better plan...it irritates me coming in from work and considering hats for dinner.......
