Another tiny brag......

Nothing along the lines of recent posts but......
Munster Championship show yesterday I took both dogs, it meant getting up at 4am and I didn't get home until 9pm but it was worth it!
Deccy - 1st Open Dog, graded "excellent" and Reserve Green Star
Diva - having shed her show lead halfway round the ring during the Junior class and trotted off on her own, rugby tackled by me (funnily enough the venue was a rugby club ) re-connected as she stood there grinning, lead back to the judge who I apologised to she actually went well and was 1st Junior Bitch, graded excellent and Green Star! This is her second and she's still only 10 months old. She was also declared Reserve Best of Breed over poor Deccy who was a little star and a very good boy for a change.

Well done, you must be over the moon, I know I would be.

I'm not familiar with the Irish system, if Diva gets another green star does that make her an Irish Champion?

No, you need seven here, and the last one must be won when the dog is over 15 months old (to prevent young "flyers" being made up then going off as adults and looking stupid).
Plus, you can't even go into the challenge unless you get the top grading so it's not as easy as some think. Continental judges are a lot harsher with gradings than the home and UK judges, usually. So - once we hit 6, nothing more will count until the end of October but if we do get 6 by then I will be thrilled!!
There is also "Junior Champion" title and she needs five wins in Junior with excellent to gain that, she has two so another three to get.. that's more tense as the clock is ticking away....

Well done, Do you still need a mixture of majors and miners to be a champ too,
Better a rugby tackle than a dog loose with a chance of getting on a road and killed,
Terry
