Hi E, Pellow can go in two tone or white depending on which view you want to use if he has more or less white either side, the view you`ve shown here would be fine for two tone, same for Rye, whichever view shows him as most applicable for either group is fine

Thanks Patch, But I think for Rye it would be better if I entered him in Tan dogs as he is really more of a solid colour with a white collar and legs. To me not really two-tone, or white. Think last time I entered him in sable, and the person collating made a remark that he was not sable. He is actually classed as Self Gold, so not sure which class to go for.

What do you think? Sorry to be a pest.

I've got some questions Patch!

What's a 'pirate face'?

Are you going to have a 'tri-colour' class?

Yellows and creams are eligible for the Tan class as it covers the full range from palest to deepest red tones

Tan is the right one for Rye, yep definitely tan predominant rather than half and half enough for the two tone class

Pirate face is two or more solid colours on the face in blocks to some degree, especially creating a `patch` over one or both eyes

Are you going to have a 'tri-colour' class?

There is`nt a tricolour class this time around I`m afraid, but for next year I`ll do a poll to see if we have enough candidates to create a specific group for in the coat colour classes - going off memory,[ mine not being the most reliable mind you ], your lad I think could go in either best white or in two tone depending on photo angle, so you can choose which you feel is most apt for him

Please don`t anyone think they are being a pain for asking questions by the way, that`s what this thread is for, and if I have questions to answer I feel more useful instead of collators doing all the work

They can indeed, any colour combination is fine ie black and tan Alsatians are often half and half in colour proportion

Also can cropped ear's be entered in classes.?
Sadly I did`nt put in the blurb that they are not acceptable, being in UK myself where its rightly illegal it just did`nt occur to me as cropped ears not being allowed in UK shows nor in most other countries is the norm, so for classes which have`nt already specified it I have to allow it, it would`nt be fair not to.
Any entered in classes because I had`nt covered anything on it do have the right to be in those classes, and must be judged fairly within the specifics of the class concerned.

It will be in the rules for next year however, but it will not affect all class types, ie the majority of Novelty classes as they are not based on conformation/appearance like the Show Posed classes for instance, so any relevant classes will have the rule included.

The Show Secs decision on this is final and not up for further discussion within the showground, this is a strictly non-controversial area of Dogsey, so while absolutely understandable that the question has been asked and a valid concern / query to have been raised, I trust that the point has now been covered for all
