Ladies and Gents,
the Show Sec is considering a new structure for the voting for Dash classes

Due to every poll in the 2007 Show and the first of the 2008 going to ties on one or more placing, and the sheer volume of equal placings on a final vote for the Come Hither class, the Sec is considering the following :

When a Final Round poll presents three or more dogs getting the same placing, the votes accumulated for those dogs on the previous voting rounds to be added together to decide their final placings.

Dogs placing above them on votes in a final round poll would not be affected,
it would just be a way to allocate placings fairly
among the dogs for whom another poll,
then another, then another,
would otherwise be needed for any one placing.

If accumulated votes still meant a tie in the placings then those would stand of course.

If anyone would like to submit a more effective way of deciding the polls on the occasionally brilliantly huge entry numbers in a Dash class, all suggestions will be considered, but if there are no logical objections to the above in the meantime, this will be tried out if/when a future poll reflects the need to see if it works.
This would only be implemented in extreme cases.

If it does`nt prove to be a successful method and there are no other suggestions which could potentially work, the we can just continue as before but with an extra poll if necessary to bring down placings numbers.
