The Activities Ring - All Video Classes Here

The video classes are now open

Please read carefully

The Activities Ring will remain Open to entries for the duration of the 2008 Show.

Judging of the Video Classes will be done by Member Vote with Polls

In the event of only one entry in a class, the entry will automatically be given First Place rather than a poll done

All video entries will appear on this thread,
with a post per class.

When you are ready to upload your clips :

Please pm The Show Secretary

Title your pm Video Entry

In the message body, please put :

"I would like to enter the class, [class name] "
and the name of the dog appearing in the clip
[ if entering multiple clips, please make the details clear which is which ]

You will then be sent the log-in and password for the Shows` photobucket account, or if you prefer, the You Tube account,
which have both been set up for all Virtual Show video entries to be uploaded to.
You will be also be given a title to assign to your clip/s.

The Show Sec will then post the video link on this thread.

This will ensure all entries are kept anonymous
[ uploading to your own accounts would of course let viewers know whose dog they are watching ]

If you have technical difficulties uploading your clips, please pm the Show Sec who will try to find a solution :smt001

If you have never uploaded a video clip before, you can find help on how to do it via HERE

If you have any queries about the classes,
or suggestions for additional video entry classes,
please post them HERE

MADDEST PLAYTIME

For this class, your dog can be playing with a favourite toy,
or playing in a paddling pool,
chasing a ball like a loon, [ for instance ],
whatever your dog considers play time fun -
not doing zoomies though, that`s a different class

You may add music to your clip for this class

Maximum clip time one minute for each dog entered.

HEELWORK TO MUSIC

For this class you will need to put together a sequence of movements to music, or submit a video you already have of a sequence.

Don`t worry if you have`nt done Heelwork to Music before, you can simply put basic obedience tasks together to make them into a sequence

You can make it as serious or as silly as you like, and if you want to dress up to create a theme for your piece that would be great too, just have fun with it

If you have a sequence but no music, you can add music to your clip.

Maximum clip time one minute and thirty seconds for this class

BEST FRISBEE CATCH

For this class, you can show your dog doing up to three frisbee catches in one clip.

Safety is paramount so please be careful not to try to get your dog jumping too high just for a video entry, and please be especially careful if your dog is`nt an experienced frisbee catcher.

Whether throwing high or long and low, we will be looking for clean, confident, and above all fun induced Frisbee catches, not aerobatics

You may add music to your clip for this class

Maximum video length 45 seconds

BEST OBEDIENCE SEQUENCE

For this class,
you need to do a freestyle sequence
of at least 10 elements,
including
a Sit,
a Down,
a Stay,
and a brief walking to heel.

You can do them in any order and you can repeat elements along with any other suitable elements of your own choice to demonstrate a nice piece of Obedience work

Time limit 2 minutes per entry, one entry per dog

AGILITY

For this class you can enter a competition run, a training run, or training at home,
utilising any number of equipment pieces to a maximum of 20 total elements.
in any single run

You may use individual training sequences spliced together to make up to the maximum number of elements within the time allowed

The run/s does not have to be `clear rounds` to win in this class !

You may add music to your clip for this class

Time limit 3 minutes

BEST TRICK

For this class, our audience will be looking for good attempts at tricks,
whether perfected or still a work in progress

Some dogs may naturally do something clever and we`d love to see those
as much as `trained` tricks

You may add music to your clip for this class

Time limit 3 minutes

BEST ZOOMIE

Best zoomie, is when the dog tucks it`s rear end under and has a completely mad burst of running around, can often be interspersed with sudden stationary moments then a frenetic burst again....
[ Thanks to Fudgeley for the excellent description ]

You may add music to your clip for this class

Time limit 2 minutes
