Special Presentation - The Ziggie Memorial Award 2007

Hi guys,

In August 2007 my beautiful boy Ziggie passed away after suffering a series of seizures. We new it was inevitable that one of the fits would cause to much damage but neither the specialists or ourselves expected it to be so soon. Ziggie was an amazing dog, he had success in flyball and a few placings in agility but mainly he was a total odd ball!!! Funny in all sorts of ways, playing fetch with a cheerio, totally obsessed with tennis balls and special to me in a way which is impossible to describe! When patch started the virtual show I decided to ask how she would feel about presenting a memorial trophy for him. Luckily for me she was happy to oblige and we decided to make it for dogs who had been otherwise unplaced. Little did I know what a mammoth task choosing would be!!!

After a lot of consideration, and checking with patch about who’d been placed and who hasn’t, I’m pleased to announce the following!

The first annual Ziggie memorial award is to be presented to a special wee guy. He’s come so far in his life after not having the best start and I chose him both because he reminds me so much of my own little guy, and also because the bond between himself and his owner reminds me strongly of that between zigg and myself. On a personal level we identified many times over the dogs and have become friends through them…the award goes to…
