We've tried Burns, James Wellbeloved, Pro Plan...currently on Autarky with some canned food, but she never eats it all and I'm worried she's not growing properly. Not sure we can afford a raw diet. I know they're a slow maturing breed, it's just that I've seen pics of 6 month old pups that seem to dwarf her!
(sorry to hijack your thread and all!)
Hi there
Daisey is 10 1/2 months
She weighed in at vets today 6 stone.
Height wise she is maybe 1/2 ins or so taller than Cleo.
Cleo sounds just fine
(no prizes for the fattest do) Your right as both sides of Cleo's x are slow maturing breeds. Some Mastiff's will max out at 2 years and some take upto and sometimes beyond 3 years.
Male dogs are normally bigger too. so a 6 month male pup could well dwarf her.
As is the case with Daisey time will tell there true size
Daisey was on Arden Grange food (which for dry food is pretty good) untill 8 weeks then went onto a Raw diet as soon as she came home for the first time. She has never left anything and normally looks at my Boxer's bowl as if to say come share
You say she never eats it all, How much are you feeding her
And how much would you say she eats
Word of advice canned food is mostly made up of water, imo don't bother its not worth the cash.
Feeding Daisey Raw cost me around £5/6 a week.
once you get the hang of Raw feeding you'll find it works out cheaper than all these super complete kibble crap and the dogs really do thrive on it.
Any questions just ask
Russ.
