Basic requirements for the classes

Best Movement Pedigree AV

and

Best Movement, Crossbreed

The handler starts at the large dot and moves in the arrowed directions then finishes again at the dot.
The dog should be on the left of the handler.

Aim for a smooth relaxed `trotting` gait, not too fast but not just walking either, however please don`t worry too much as the Judge will take lack of experience into account

Maximum video time 30 seconds for each clip you enter.

You can see examples of the sort of pace to aim for by clicking on the images
Here
The clips there do contain very brief interviews with the handlers of the dogs as well so please do wait a few moments to see the movement on the clips

Details on how to enter will be on each class thread as they open :smt001

Maddest Playtime

For this class, your dog can be playing with a favourite toy, or playing in a paddling pool, chasing a ball like a loon, [ for instance ], whatever your dog considers play time fun - not just doing zoomies though, thats a different class

Maximum clip time 30 seconds for each dog entered.

Best HTM

For this class you will need to put together a sequence of movements to music.

Don`t worry if you have`nt done Heelwork to Music before, you can simply put basic obedience tasks together to make them into a sequence.
You can make it as serious or as silly as you like, and if you want to dress up to create a theme for your piece that would be great too, just have fun with it

Maximum clip time one minute and thirty seconds for this class

Best Frisbee Catch

For this class, you can show your dog doing up to three frisbee catches in one clip.

Safety is paramount so please be carefull not to try to get your dog jumping too high just for a video entry, and please be especially careful if your dog is`nt an experienced frisbee catcher.

Whether throwing high or long and low, the judge will be looking for clean, confident, and above all fun induced Frisbee catches, not aerobatics

Maximum video length 30 seconds

Obedience Sequence

For this class, you will need to complete the following in the order listed :

Begin facing the direction of the camera :

Dog to Sit

Dog to Stay

Handler to walk forward five paces then stop, still facing away from the dog

Call dog to your side and pause for a count of two

Right Turn together

Walk five paces together

Both stop

Dog to Down

Dog to Stay [ in the Down ]

Handler to walk away for five paces then stop

Turn to face the dog

Pause for a count of three

Return to the dog - handler to then `about turn` next to the dog until facing the same direction together

Step forward three paces together

Left turn together [ so facing camera direction again ]

One pace forward together

Left Turn together

Step forward three paces together

Right turn to face camera

Dog to Sit

Pause for a count of three

Finish exercise and praise your dog

The camera operator or other helper
can
call out the sequence to the handler

Handlers may use food or a toy to help their dogs to focus if needed

The judge will be looking mostly for interaction / focus between handler and dog, and willingness from the dog to try to do what is being asked rather than speed of compliance or neat/correct handler footwork etc - this is hopefully going to be fun for dog and handler to try the exercise, and is`nt meant to be like a Crufts Obedience Championship level of competition

Length of clip - as long as it takes to complete the sequence :smt001
