Thoughts plz - advice re specialist - discusted

Hi could i have some thoughts plz....

Jess had an mri on thursday at a specialists, he promised to give me a call begining of this week to go over her operation - it never happened, like previous promises of phone calls.

Anyway i have side stepped the specialist to referr her myself to another specialist in stroud, where she will have the operation 2 weeks earlier on new years eve. it is booked.

I have contacted my vet who is brilliant and will get all xray and reports drawn up for me to collect and take up to stroud for new years eve op but he has nothing back from specialist regarding mri reports/scans etc.

NOW>>>>> contacted the specialist and they have blamed the vet for previous non phone calls, blamed me as the receptions is saying a complete lie telling me the specialist on record HAS spoke to me this week in great detail explaining op etc. I told her he definately has not and she said "well he rung and spoke to someone last thursday must have been your husband. I then informed her my husband was away all week working so yet again another lie.

She then started shouted loudly and aggressively at me telling me all records regarding mri where on the specialist computer and they had no access until the new year (too late as jess op is new years eve). And they couldn;t forward any info to the new specialist before op.

I got mad, and gave her what for saying.... everything regarding my dog is my property by law and i wanted it all now.... no if's or buts.... i paid £1,500 for the mri i wanted the details now.

The call ended there but she ended by saying she would get something written up and sent to my vets (not specialist as they wouldn't do that). I said "would it include all info for the specialist that he needed to do the op."

Her words "well i don't know that is his thing and nothing to do with us" I yelled how bloody rude and incompetent they were and hung up. (or stronger words to that effect)

Is it just me.....or is that the most appalling service you have ever heard of.

The op would cost £2,500 and i think now they are annoyed that someone else is getting the money not them.

thoughts please,,,,, i am so bloody mad it is untrue.

You have every right to be annoyed or worse.
I would feel the same how dare they this is Jess's well being and if that is how they behave she will be better off having it done somewhere else.

What appalling behaviour! Thank goodness you have found another specialist who can treat Jess. You really don't need this sort of hassle on top of everything else.

I think a strongly worded letter of complaint about the lack of information and subsequent lies from the receptionist is in order.

Calmed down a bit now

I cannot believe the way they are treating us.

Never mind, there loss, and it has just confirmed the doubts i was having before hand TO SIDE STEP THEM and go elsewhere. So glad i did book her in somewhere else now. Really glad jessie's op isn't in there hands.

New specialist is soo good.

I am going to write a strong worded letter of complaint because there specialist is nothing better than a liar and this is a major group of veterninary practices so i think i will go to the head office, as this wasn't a one off misunderstanding it has gone on for weeks.

Think you're doing completely the right thing and make sure you do follow it up with that letter. If you don't complain about this appalling behaviour, they will never change. The more people complain, the better the service will become. So glad you got Jess sorted out somewhere else and so soon. Good luck for the op. xx

Sorry to hear of your frustrations.

Working in a school as I do, I face incompetence and rudeness from suppliers/contractors on nearly a daily basis.

I know it's very hard, but I stay perfectly calm when dealing with idiots...I find it often winds them up much more. Remember, you are the customer and you should be treated with the utmost respect.

If a supplier/contractor REALLY pushes my wrong buttons, I bid them good day, then hang up. I then write a harsh, but always polite letter to their Managing Director with a copy to Trading Standards if applicable.

If they still treat me like I'm pond scum, my final attack is to write a Blog about the service they provide, and forward the link to as many of my colleagues as I can. I finally send the link of my Blog to their company email.

Job done.

PS...all the best.
