Nice. They are very attractive looking dogs. I've heard they're quite hard to train, and they're called "stupid" here where I live. People here can really be something else (me included). I'm sure that's not the case. Can't wait to see him! Good for you.

Not sure they are any harder than any other breed to train. They are a sight hound so recall may be an issue if they see a small furry that looks interesting.
They are very beautiful dogs and I believe have temperaments to match.
I had these on my list when deciding which large breed to go for in 2005.

Deerhounds are my first love but I like Wolfhounds too.

We need plenty photos and of course we need the name

Looking forward to pics, they are a lovely breed, someone has two in the village down the road, a little old lady walking two giants through the village every day is a sight to see.

Stupid is not a word I would associate with this breed at all

A rather cryptic message Phil are you getting an IW, what no gundog

How exciting IW's are lovely dogs, the ones I have met have been gentle and easy going.

Ooh how exciting Phil. I love the breed but never felt we had enough space for one and by the time we had I was fully in love with the Afghan Hound.

We will need lots of pictures as you know
