Birds

Has anyone else had a distinct lack of them in the garden today.
Over at my parents house they hadn't seen any apart from the normally tame blackbird that seemed very nervous and didn't hang around, and they are normally inundated with starlings and small birds but there has been none and you can't even hear them.

I come home and the food I put out is normally scoffed by them within the hour, but its still all there and again I cannot see or hear any about.

There is 10 miles distance between my parents and mine so its not a neighbourhood thing, which made me wonder if anyone else has seen or heard the birds as normal today in their area.

Haven't really noticed Bev. Wonder if there is something around frightening them.

Ours only seem to come for the food when it's wet & raining so maybe cos its a lovely day they are finding insects themselves.

I am not sure, but I think that when it is hot and dry they all jigger off into the woods, or some other shady place, to search for food there. Our birds are all here first thing in the morning, and late afternoon.........but no sign of anything much inbetween.

Another explanation of course is a sparrow hawk in the area.
