Anyone heard form Malka ?

TW has put a news link up about a town in Isreal being hit and it seems it is where Malka and Pereg are.

Malka spells it Ashqelon and the news site spells it differently so maybe there are two but she hasn't made her ususal appearance on the morning thread.

Well I always understood from her PM's that she's not actualy in Ashqelon (There are not two places with that name) As this is a public forum I won't put the name of the place. Ashqelon is the nearest large(ish) town.

I have just responded to TW on the morning thread, and H is correct, Ashqelon and Ashkelon are the same place, and no I do not live in town now but am 15 minutes by car away from the centre of town - or about 4-5 kilometres as the crow [or missiles].

Pereg and I have had a rather interesting morning what with two lots of visits by what I call "baby soldiers" [well I have grandchildren their age] from the Home Command, inspecting my bungalow and wanting to evacuate me, and once again I have been offered a daily hot meal, some blankets [by which they mean duvets], and oh, did I need any clothes.

Umm - thanks but no thanks to the latter but another duvet would make a rather nice bed for Pereg.........

Wishing you safe keeping Malka.. The news reports are terrible, so many children killed and injured. I am saying prayers that this will end and that you and Pereg stay safe.. hugs to you both xx
