Washing machine "disaster" Help-Jamie is going to kill me!

I am going to be in big do-dos soon when Jamie realises what has happened to his favourite Christmas jumper.

I forgot to read the label and accidentally put it in a 40 degrees wash with all the other clothes when it is lambswool and should be handwashed

It has shrunk to the size for about an 8 year old! My whole lounge stinks like perm solution too.

I rushed to Tescos to see if I could coverup my mistake and buy another the same but they had sold out. I did buy him a lovely cashmere jumper reduced to £25 from £59 but his one had been reduced to £10 from £30 before Christmas so I am out of pocket.

What is so annoying is that I did this before with a Christmas present from my Mum and Dad a few years back. They bought me a £50 jumper from House of Fraser and it shrunk in the machine so it fitted my then 8 year old Great-niece!

Unfortunately I did not learn from this mistake

Anyone else got any disasterous washing stories?

Loads of mishaps over the years but one that stick in my mind was a chap I knew put his Aran cardigan on boil wash and it came out stiff as a board and small enough to fit a kids doll.

Wot-you don't even have a "demon sock-gobbler" in your machine?

I just remembered another disaster when I put all my silk underwear in to the machine with other stuff and instead of coming out cream it came out a horrid dark green. I thought I couldn't just throw it out as it was expensive so I continued to wear it but wore it for the doctor's once and then had to undress

I read how to clean your washing machine on the net, it said to put bleach in it, so I did.

A giant bleach foam monster attacked my kitchen

dont be silly.....everyone knows that the drum spins soooo fast that it tears a hole in the space time continuum, so your socks end up in alternate dimensions.
