Dog rescued from river at Staverton

It was clear from the outset that we were dealing with an appalling example of animal cruelty made worse, as we later found out, that the dog had very recently given birth to a litter of puppies whose fate is unknown. Two further puppies were delivered by Caesarean Section but sadly died.

what a piece of low-life scumbag that can do this to a living creature. I don't know who the animals really are in this day and age. I hope it meets a horrible horrible end.

Oh what an awful read. That poor dog. Thank goodness that man had the sense/instinct that something wasn't right and to save her. Hopefully that doggie will find a loving home after her ordeal.

Poor baby! At least she is now with people who will look after her and being in the paper will help her find a forever home.

This is so sad and appalling!! I just don't understand how anyone can be so cruel. I never understand why people do this and what sort of people would do this. It makes me so sick and angry. I hope he goes to hell.

The poor little soul, I hope she recovers mentally and physically, and that her puppies - well, perhaps better if they were dead, if she was used for baiting and the pups might be still with those awful people....

It makes me so ashamed to be part of "the human race" when I read of some of the unbelievable cruel things "humans" do to those who can't defend themselves!!
