Do you feed kibble or raw? With anal gland problems in my opinion it is always best to look at the diet as a starter rather than medicinal fixes.

I raw feed and use the glandex powder if needed. Brilliant stuff.

I would say that would be fine not sure it matters how you feed to use it.

Giving them fibre when glands sorted is also helpful if they are prone to gland problems.

It might be worth trying a switch to raw - or if you don't fancy that, just feeding raw meaty bones. The anal glands to work properly need more than the mushy type stools that are produced from a kibble diet. Some dogs - my boy Hal was one of them - had complete prolapse of his anal glands following kibble diet for 5 years. Switching to raw meat and bones had him sorted within a couple of weeks. Good luck xx

We are dogless currently, but used to use Albion. They deliver to most areas now. There are several very good on line suppliers ... Landywoods, DAF etc. To make life easier, a lot of companies provided a "complete" meal, with ground bone and raw veg included in the mix. Raw chicken wings are excellent and again these can be obtained from on-line suppliers, or we used to buy ours from Tesco. Many butchers make their own raw dog mince and will sell you raw meaty bones.

The scouring effect should help the anal glands to work properly. Good luck!

My boy will be 7 this year. Mostly fed kibble just because it's what I can afford for him. He's never had anal gland problems. He's never had mushy stools. He's never needed fiber supplements.

Actually none of my dogs have ever had anal glad problems. I did not even know dogs HAD anal glands until I joined a forum and people were talking about them.
