Cola ham anybody?

Does anybody make this with their Christmas ham?

Mum in law was telling me about the boiling ham she got & I told her how I do mine by boiling it in a bottle of cola then spreading honey on the top & browning it in the oven - it's lovely

She actually thought I was joking but I've been doing this for years, sometimes do it with ribs too.
Also wondered if there were any other variations of it?

So weird that you've posted this today - we were just talking about getting a ham as my stepdaughter will be here and she doesn't like turkey.

Do you soak the ham before cooking it in the cola?

I have worked on and off as a chef most of my working life and used to cook a huge gammon twice a week at once place where it was really popular, I would never consider NOT cooking it in cola!!
The Result is a much more succulent ham.
Shove the ham in a big pan, fill pan with cola to cover, boil an hour or so dependant on size of ham, drain, cover with honey and mustard, or (cranberry and JD) or maple (with either!) shove in oven till done, (i baste with the sauce a few times....)
DOUBLE YUM
