A REAL country walk! Leonardslee gardens!

We decided to take a trip out this morning to absorb the wonders of nature at this time of year, and went to Leonardslea Gardens Nr. Gatwick Airport. We were the first to arrive at 9.30 when they opened and had the place all to ourselves! The peace and quiet and beauty of it all was quite overwhelming. The lakes had an eerie mist rising, the sunlight was fanned through the tall trees down onto the frosty ground - it quite took my breath away!!!

Anyways, here's some pics to enjoy what we saw!

This was our first glimpse as we headed down to the lakes:
Down at the lakeside:
and another down at the lakes:
The colours were magnificent:

On the uphill climb back!

Met a couple of wallaby's on our travels - as yer do!!!They sooo looked like giant rats!

and last but not least, here's a nutty tree hugger!!!

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed your trip to Leanardslea - next week we're off to Sheffield Park!

Half an hour's drive for us! Gorgeous isn't it! Even better in May, or even 2 weeks AGO, we missed most of the Autumn glory

Lol, yes Jackie, too many trees, so little time - only took 2 1/2 hours to walk it and that was without stopping!!!!xx

I thought you'd have been there Tracy!!! If I remember right, Sheffield Park is much better? I went in the summer though I found a gorgeous new tree I've just gotta have - rather like those boots I've just gotta have! It's called an Acer Palmatum "Senkaki" it's gorgeous, but a lot bigger than the one I'll be getting in a pot! xx
