Dog Thieves

Admin on a greyhound site posted this, so I thought I would copy and paste it here so everyone can be aware.

We have been advised to make everybody aware that dog thieves are operating in the areas of Colchester, Maldon and the Dengie, and the police are saying that this type of crime is not limited to these areas.

Please make sure you know where your dog is at all times, and never leave them tied up outside of shops. Please also make sure your gardens are secure.

A red van seems to have been sighted before or after these crimes have taken place.

Please, please everybody, be on your guard.

Bev, it's a frightening thought, I thought we would be safe being in such a rural area but over here the Police have gone on TV warning people to keep their gardens properly fenced to keep their dogs secure.

A lady came round a few months ago crying because her dog had gone missing, there is no 'Dogs Lost' web site here and all she could do was put up some posters on the local trees and telephone poles.
