Our rescue pooch!

I'd like to introduce Emmie, our first dog. I've grown up with dogs and have worked with them for years, but we've never had one of our own.. until now

Emmie is 12ish year old EBTxSBT who had been in rescue for almost 3 years, she's been with us since Monday and is slowly remembering all of the happy dog things she enjoys. These include walks, other doggies (as long as they don't bounce on her), toys and most importantly, CUDDLES!

Early winter is a lovely time to welcome a dog into your life, a brilliant excuse to get out and enjoy the outdoors... an even better excuse to just snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket!

Hope you like her!

Isn't she lovely, and she will bring such warmth into your life in so many ways. I am all for taking on the oldies from rescue kennels, - okay, we don't have them for that long but they give so much back to us that every day is packed full of pleasure and love.

I love her multi-coloured coat! How sad she has been waiting for a home for so long.

Can;t understand why people pass the oldies by. We got Izzy this year and she was 9. I think you are very good to take on a 12 year old dog though. I hope you enjoy the time you have together.

Thank you all for your comments. I can't bear the thought of wobbly old creatures spending their final nights cold and alone. Emmie has come here to join our cat Leela, who is in her late teens and from a similar situation. We won't have them as long as we'd like, but they deserve comfort and companionship.
