Curlew

I heard my first curlew of the year this morning, when turning Dusty out. There were 3 flying about calling. That means spring is just around the corner.

They winter down by the coast and then come inland to breed and is one of the most haunting sounds in the uplands when they start displaying. Truly amazing birds.

Haven't heard ours yet ... winter must be holding its grip on us a while longer!

You are further north so things start to move a few weeks after us anyway.
