Lets talk rats!!

Does anyone have any???

I currently have none! I want a couple of rats though at some point its still something im mulling over as I now have a dog and chickens, yes I could afford them easily!! And yes I have the time for them but still undecided I know if I asked mum she would reject the idea but wouldnt be that fussed if I brought home some she probably would not even nottice as she rarely goes into my room anyway ^^'''

Do any of you keep rats? What are your experience? (with the domestic ones i mean) Do you keep standed fancey rats, dumbo rats??

I know a bit about rat behavior as my friend is a rat enthusiast as much as I am about chickens and dogs and ive looked after small furries since I was a kid.

Love rats! I had two fancy rats a long time ago, both developed tumours sadly

I haven't ruled out having more, just the opportunity has never really arisen since.

I have never experienced tumours in males only females.

I have lots of rat friends including some 3 week old babies - they are so cool - my 3rd litter!

I show mine and train them in agility, I also take them to work with me and they love camping and walking (although usually in my hood)

Champion Alpha Centauri Tiberius on his 2nd birthday - he's the first I have shown to a Championship

Pythagoras

Comis Gargoyle who won BIS last month

Slobby Dice

Chiquito in the dogs pool

My babies - well some of them

Oh Muddiwarx, I love your ratties. Such great pics.

I have one little old skanky man of my own. We lost his brother a few months ago. I also have four gorgeous girlies on foster at the moment. They are great fun, I forgot what it was like to have young, fit ones instead of wobbly old men!

Someone said the R word great

I've had rats for the last 6 years started with 2 elderly gents Ant and Dec who were over 2 when I got them one lived to 39 months and the other 41. Best rats I could have started with lovely squidgy boysies.

Since then I've had DRat, Geordie, Myroy, Tirani, Keeper Loon and Fitlike all boys and sadly at Rainbow Bridge now. Also Much missed girlies Rose and Blanche.

In residence at the moment are Bea Ulrika Milly and Freya gorgeous girls and Wissy and Ollie handsome lads.

Love my rats to bits

Go on ask Muddiwarx how many she has

I have a Tower which would hold up to 16 rats
http://www.petcentreonline.co.uk/eco...roduct~989.htm

It was a very popular cage but is a bit difficult to access for cleaning.

This one is popular now
http://www.berriewoodwholesale.co.uk...FREE-DELIVERY/

Very good access I'd love one but can't justify buying one JUST because I want it

If you go to a Fancy Rats forum you will get lots of advice and suggestions

A happy familysworth

Cage wise - I have a Tower too, several Explorers which are my favourites and a Ferret Nation.

Smaller cage wise I have an Abode which I think is fab too.

I would love some rats again but Rof has a terrible prey drive and it wouldn't be fair on him or any ratties PLUS i want hand reared ones and have really struggled to find some for a while actually (i should stop looking ) x
