Small-medium sized rescue dog wanted!

My grandparents are retiring soon (aged 62 and 65) and they are looking for a small to medium sized rescue dog.

They are willing to look at any age of dog up to 4-5 years old. They're previous dog was a rescue and all the cats are rescues. They currently have one cat of their own who is fine with dogs, the neighbours two cats come in during the day for a visit (more like an extended daily snooze!) and they are also absolutely fine with other dogs. So, the dog must be good with cats, that is a must.

They aren't bothered whether it's a pedigree or a mongrel, but it must be in good health. They will consider a dog or a bitch as well.

We'll be searching the rescue centres, of course, but I just thought I'd put a post up here in case anyone on Dogsey knows of any dogs who might fit the bill for them.

Thank in advance, everybody.

The Dog Aid Society in Edinburgh sometimes has nice dogs and the good thing about them is they are private rehomings so the history of the dog is known .

This is a private rehome. Owners are divorcing. He's actually only two years old, which is great as they didn't want a puppy or a really old dog. They're wanting him rehomed ASAP so it looks like he could be coming to us at the weekend.

As you say, Tracey, the rescue centres are bursting at the seams just now. There is no way they would buy a puppy and quite honestly, we don't want him to go to a rescue centre.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I'll keep you posted.
