Update

She is spending the night at the police station again (thanks officers!)
and has a lift to foster in Cheshire tomorrow. If the roads are not safe
to travel, she will go to a contact Louise until they thaw out.

Many Tears could not have taken her, they are very full at present and
they are very near me, some 40 currently impassable miles from Aber.

It is hard to believe in this day and age, organisations/councils can be so callous as to not allow people to allow their pets to accompany them in a time of need and distress.
Respect to this family who have not given up their dog, even in their present situation.

Brilliant news - the poor lass will be very confused, but at least she is warm and safe.

I am in complete agreement with you about councils and organisations etc. They clearly have no idea how important dogs are to their owners, they are one of the family.

this is a terrible situation to be in both for the family and the dog. Like everyone else I would have given her a home until the family were settled again but just wondered if there was somewhere on this site that people could register their whereabouts in the UK (on a list of sorts) to let others know that they would be prepared to offer shelter to all sorts of animals? I am new to the site so not sure if this exists.

I think it's a brilliant idea too! I for one, would be more than willing to take in any dog that needs a home for a few nights, that's a dead cert! I wouldn't have a clue as to where to go to offer it, so having something on here would be brill!
