Oh dear, very sad & worrying

I had a young dog come to board with me a few yrs ago. He became ill the following day after he arrived, thought he was just settling in, by the 2nd day I called the vet who suspected babesia. Tests confirmed it a few days later but he also had Leishmania as well. His owners came back after 10days but sadly he died 2 days after going home

Thats why its so very important to get ticks off ASAP, as it can take 24 or longer hrs before they pass diseases on.

I know this might be a silly question - but what exactly does a tick look like on a dog - is it big enough to see or is it small? Just need to know what to look out for.
