Proud of My Boys...

We've just been to the local community woodfayre which is on the first saturday of September every year. I took the dogs on my own last year but they were only tiny.
We've had problems with Max this year being a bit growly and nippy with people he doesn't know. We don't meet many new people although they were well socialised to start with so the few people they see are those they see all the time and there are no problems there.
Today Adam & I went because I can no longer have both dogs on lead on my own and people were fussing over the dogs and Max had strokes and pats from lots of people and looked completely OK with it! I'm so proud!
I was about to warn off the first man who came up to me and before I could he'd given Max a fairly hard pat on his ribs and was stroking his head and Max looked like he was enjoying it! Then a couple of teenage kids were stroking them. Again, I was just pulling Max away but they got there first (why don't people ask if your dog's OK to stroke?) and he was good as gold. Then some younger ones still and Max was dropping his ball at the feet of a girl who was no taller than he is!
I can't believe how much he's changed and now feel encouraged to try taking him to more places where there are lots of people.
My boy's grown up!!!
