Any tips on agility training?

I would like to start Zuki and my new pup (when he comes) on agility, however I have no clue as to where to start and what to do, any advice?

And if anyone knows an agility trainer in Portsmouth that would be great?

Hi Donna and Zuki it is important to let your puppy grow fully before attempting agility so that you do not put undue stress on growing joints...then the first step is to join an agility class. I will PM you a list of clubs .

The nearest agility class to me is Southampton (hours drive) and I dont drive

Any books or such like so I can teach myself the basics?

Before starting even basic agility you will need good basic off lead obedience from your dog.

You should not & no registered agility club will allow puppies under 12 months to do any jumps & your dog must be 18 mo)

Put Agility & Net in to a search engine & you should find the main UK agility site(Forum won't let me do a link)it's a site dedicated to agility you should be able to find info re clubs & books etc on there
