Unintentionally

Does anyone sometimes ever forget their dog/s are dogs? Although I try not to, it happens, little things like tucking a blanket around her at night if it's a bit chilly, talking like there's another person there "what'll we do today eh?", or being overprotective at times. Does anyone think it happens(or is likely to)more with no other human company for most of time n if have one dog only?
Many thanks
H

I have plenty of company human wise and multiple dogs but I have been known to still talk to my dogs like humans.

OH often says what did you say and I reply I was talking to the dogs.

I have also done the tucking in if its chilly and fluff up the pillows for them and the ungratful sods sometimes toss the covers aside or scrable the pillows so they are all bunched up

Etta has her own [a social network] page and chooses stuff at boot sales and has very definite views on life!

She isn't allowed on Amazon as it is one click buying and we'd end up with a house full of fluffy toys!

Yes, I do this all of the time, asking Max questions - I'd make a lot of money if he'd ever reply to me!

When we first got Max, Dave had a different job and was away a lot. Max had quite severe separation anxiety when he came to us so although I would go out frequently and put the rubbish out, post letters etc I never left him for long periods of time. If Dave was working away at a weekend Max might be the only one for me to talk to. Not sure if that was why it started but it has carried on (maybe I get more sense out of Max than Dave!)

I talk to mine all the time!

I don't "baby" them, but I do treat them like children sometimes (at least in how I speak to them!).

My mum is also a super "Grandma" to them
