It's today

Sitting here crying my eyes out. Dylan is going to the vets this afternoon and will be getting his wings. He has put up the most amazing fight as you all know. He made it to his 6 years anniversary of being diagnosed with Leukemia but he is so tired now.

Last night I actually thought he had gone. He was in such a deep sleep. But when I woke him he wouldn't get up. This morning he just couldn't get to his feet. I finally got him up but I knew that we had reached that moment.

He's picked up a bit. Had a little potter round the garden but he is drinking and sleeping so much.

My heart has just broken watching my son saying goodbye to his childhood buddy. The 2 were inseparable when they were younger but the love they feel for each other is so obvious. My daughter will be home soon but I haven't put anything on F B as she doesn't know yet.

Our appointment is at 3.20 this afternoon. I'm absolutely dreading it

I'm so very sorry, Claire. *huge hugs* to you, Dylan and your son.

Dylan has been such a strong, brave boy all this time and has been an absolute trooper to the very end. He couldn't have done that without his mum!

Take care and will be thinking of you all today. xx

Bless you all xxxx Dylan has just had my prawn and advocado sandwich that I bought yesterday to take to work today and a packet of crisps. Food has been such a massive part of his life, helped by the constant steroid use, and it comforts me slightly to know he still has that pleasure. I will be getting him a lovely treat to take with us to the vets.

The other 3 dogs are very quiet. I swear they know. Especially Lily who adores Dylan.
