Here is what the makers of the vax themselves say.

From Virbac, makers of the canigen vax:-

Booster vaccination: It is recommended that dogs be revaccinated against:
Canine distemper: every 3 years
Canine parvovirus: every 3 years
Infectious canine hepatitis: following vaccination at 10 weeks of age or older, dogs should acquire permanent immunity to infectious hepatitis. However, since the occasional individual may fail to mount an optimum immune response it is recommended that a booster is given every three years.

From Fort Dodge, makers of Duramune vax:-

The onset of immunity is from two weeks after the second vaccination. The duration of immunity is at least three years for the canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus fractions. The duration of immunity is at least one year for the leptospira fractions.

From Intervet, makers of Nobivac vax:-

A duration of immunity of at least three years has been established for the canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus vaccine components

As you can see its not what the vet says its what the makers of the vaccines say & they say for those 3 major diseases a minimum of 3 yrs immunity is given.

There is NO reason to start a series of vaccines all over again.

I have stopped having Kingsley boostered now.
he's 10, and you're not telling me, after 9 years of injections, he has no immunity!
What does your vet think Foxy?

Am going to carry on having teagan boostered for the moment, as she seems to be a sickly dog, so dont want to risk her catching things with me working at the kennels

Here is another good link

There is no justification for starting a series of vax all over again, immunity just does not work like that.

*Am going to carry on having teagan boostered for the moment, as she seems to be a sickly dog, *

Hi H, the manufacturers themselves say ONLY healthy dogs can be vaccinated. Also nearly all the manu`s vax give a minimum 3 year immunity so there is no need to have yearly boosters now.
