I had a look...a Cocker won it in 1996.

The last Lab to win it was in 1937.

Imagine if a plain, 'boring' dog like a Lab won...owners of fru-fru dogs would be up in arms!

In all seriousness, most gundog breeds are not flashy looking which is why they don't tend to do well in these big shows.

Saw some lovely German long haired Pointers there in 07. Stunning!

Didn't a flat coat get through to the final last year???

Yes, that's right, Pidge. Simon, his name was. Unfortunately he died last year. Lyme disease, I think the reason was. How sad.
