** VIOLET ** approx 9 yo Female Blue Brindle Whippet
Meet the adorable Violet a very sweet little female blue brindle whippet who is approximately 9 years of age and 18.5 inches to the shoulder. Violet has had a pretty hard life and sadly been bred from for most of it even having had a litter of puppies barely a year ago. Her previous owners managed to release her from this life but due to family commitments have decided to hand Violet over to the care of Kerry Greyhounds to find her the quiet retirement home that she really deserves. Violet needs to live out her days in the lap of luxury and to be totally spoilt, only the very best for this little girl.
Location: Kennels in Norfolk. Violet would benefit hugely by living in a foster home while she waits for her forever home.
Key Points: Just the prettiest little girl, affectionate, calm, well behaved, very sweet, good with other dogs, loves to snuggle on the sofa, used to live with cats and was apparently good with them, good on the lead, loves her walks, house trained (just watch for the signs that she wants to go out) and has been immaculate in her kennel, good in the car, loves people, can sit on command, good with children but best suited to older children as younger children can frighten her, prefers to sleep with her family in their bedroom like a typical whippie!
~ Personality ~
Violet is a typical gorgeous whippet who loves to lounge in the sun, snuggle with you on the settee or anywhere for that matter! She loves her food but prefers kibble if there is something juicy mixed in with it and if you're really lucky she will come for a cuddle after eating and give you a lovely big burpy kiss. Violet is just a little cutie pie with no hang ups or problems, just getting to her Autumn years and needing a 5* new family to spoil her.
~ In the Home ~
Violet is very good in the home and can be left a couple of hours with no problem. She loves to snuggle with you on the sofa. She is housetrained but you will need to watch for the signs that she needs to go out.
~ Other Animals ~
Violet has apparently lived with cats previously and was good with them but we will need to cat test her before we would be happy for her live in a home with cats. She is also very good with other gentle dogs of any size or age.
~ Out and About ~
PViolet loves her walks and is good both on the lead and in the car.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Violet would be happiest in a quiet family environment with older children due to her age or an active retired couple and a home where she will rarely be left as she ADORES human company. She would preferable have at least one other gentle canine companion although it may be possible to be a single dog if there is someone at home the majority of the time and she socialises with other dogs regularly. She can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect her. Please also note we do NOT under any circumstances rehome dogs to families with children under the age of 8 years.
~ Where Am I? ~
Violet is currently in kennels in Norfolk. She would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us. At the moment it is only logistically feasible for us to use foster homes in the Norfolk and Suffolk areas.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Violet will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in adopting Violet, please contact me (Bronwen) via email:
bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or you can speak to me directly by phoning: 075 000 62648.
There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the
Adopt a Kerry Greyhound page.
Thank you.
