Information about Puggles R Us?

Hi, I'm interested in getting a puggle puppy and am seeing mixed information about Puggles R Us in Doncaster, and whether this is a good place to get a healthy puppy, or whether they are a puppy farm churning out puppies in poor conditions. To be honest, the name itself doesn't sound great and is putting me off a bit.

I can see that there have been previous posts asking similar questions, but the site is telling me I don't have authority to see them. So I apologise if I am asking people to repeat comments, but I need more information before I can make a decision.

Many thanks from a confused newbie 😊

Er there is no such breed as a"puggle"they are cross breeds from a pug & a beagle. There is no mention of the health tests for the beagle mothers, beagles do have a problem with HD & all breeding dogs should have a low score.

They no doubt will be very expensive(£1200 believe)

This is from a social network Dogs Trust page

I bought our much loved Gertie (puggle) from a farm in the north.. Website "puggles r us" stupid i know now! We travelled for hours for our 'special' family pet. The place was massive.. All types of pups.. But we had set our heart on bringing her home.. Even tho it felt wrong. £1200 later she was ours. She was so placid.. Until she woke the next day. We are convinced she had been given a sedative.. From day 1 she was a nightmare.. But I wanted to persevere.. She wouldn't eat, vomited 2 inch live worms.. Bit me.. Was aggressive.. We tried and tried.. Training classes were a joke.. I took time out from work to train her, but in the end.. After my husband broke his leg.. After many a frantic call to dogs trust.. I had to admit defeat. Gertie was too much. The family took her that day.. And we have been devastated ever since. Gertie was so beautiful, but being from a farm.. She had no human socialisation. Such a sad sad experience, and one we will never repeat thank you dogs trust shrewsbury. Xx
Add to the fact that "Puppies are available all year round"means that they are a mass breeder

I can't believe anyone would pay £1200 for a crossbreed! Hey ho, as long as people will, then places like this will keep breeding them and charging what they want!

Thank you, I realise it is a cross breed, I am not precious about having a pedigree dog, and from the research I have done it seems that pug/beagle crosses tend to have a good temperament and are a small to medium size which is what I am looking for.

I saw the post above when searching online and it sounds horrendous, but have also seen posts from people who have been happy with the service and health of their puppy. I'm not sure what I should believe so thought if anyone on here has had experience of dealing with puppies r us I could get a firsthand review.

Thanks again for responding.

Your money, your choice. If you wish to support a puppy farmer and risk a lot of money on a cross breed pup with no health tests for either dam or sire, then it is your prerogative.

The chances of finding a cross where both parents have been health tested are not great tbh. Why not get a Pug from health tested parents where the breeder has gone above and beyond the health tests recommended by either the kc or breed club. A breeder that cares passionately where the pups end up and has already taken all necessary steps to ensure their pups are healthy and well socialised and will give you a life time of support. Pugs have a good temperament and are totally fab little dogs, mine manage just fine living with my Dobermanns, staffie and terrier and have no issues. The fact that you are questioning Puggles r us should be enough to tell you to avoid them like the plaque in all honesty, good breeders guard their reputation for a very good reason.

I joined this site to try and get advice. My post doesn't say I'm definitely going to get one from them, quite the opposite in fact. I was asking for help and information from someone who may have had experience. However it seems people are just on here to sneer and judge anyone who doesn't make a decision based on one [a social network] post.

Thank you Trouble, this is really informative. I thought that maybe the health problems inherent with pugs may be less likely to surface in a cross but I agree it'd be easier to monitor health in a full pug. Thank you
