Wild brown trout... bones and guts?

Ok, I'm not bragging... well yes I am I Had a good day fishing and took home a couple of wild brown trout for the dogs. Normally I just chuck em a couple of really tiny ones so I don't bother to bone and gut, I just take off head and tail and fins. These though, are a wee bit bigger so what ya reckon... best to bone and gut first??

I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination....
But I'd be inclined to throw it to them as is.

The only thing I would do is freeze it for a few weeks first to insure any possible parasites are killed off.

Nice one - perhaps it's the photo but are you sure that's a brownie ?

I'm sure others might disagree but i'd just give it to them as is. Well actually i'd have it myself.

PS

That's one of those mini chopping boards isn't it ?

almost a pound and a half "mini chopping board hmmph"

Def a brownie though.. just my crappy pic thats done the colour a bit.

I'd have eaten them myself but I don't fancy em much... too many wee bones for my liking. Or maybe I've got expensive taste coz I prefer salmon

I'll give them to the lads.. heads tails off then... cheers

Quite like brown trout BUT it all depends where they were caught and what they had been feeding on. My dogs are quite partial to raw venison (all legally shot)

I just give them as they are, Lona loves raw fish, but Cariad takes hers (and sulks) away into a corner and gives it a good staring at, eventually there is a 'brief exchange of views' and Lona walks away with it and eats it!
