A few otters and seals for Moobli or anybody else

A few locals for Moobli or anybody else.

They might look a bit funny on here - clicking them might help.

This seal is never far away from the shore at the cottage. Whilst the otters require a certain degree of stealth to photograph - this fella will always pop up to say hello if we're just pottering about or if the kids are sploshing in the Loch.

Different seals from a different stretch of the Loch - they never have the same friendly expression

The early part of last week was great weather and we saw plenty of otters with fish and crabs both in calm 'mirror' water as well as on the rocks. I was itching to get the camera gear out but being a family holiday I'd put some time aside for later in the week.

So there I was on Thursday and Friday soaked to the skin, sheltering behind a rock beneath an overhanging tree for hours, camera wrapped in a plastic bag cursing and swearing

The light (not to mention my will) was all but gone as had my camera's ISO limit and resulting shutter speeds but just as I called it a day a couple of otters came to check me out.

I've still loads to go through but I'm frustrated with the first batch of otters knowing what I'd missed but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Plenty more landscapes and birds to follow if I ever find the time to go through them.

Fabulous---I listened to a programme Terry Nutkins did it and he went to the shore and an otter came and you could hear the magic he was feeling.

Absolutely stunning shots Phil. I can hardly choose between them, but as the otter is such an elusive creature I have to choose your otter shots - fantastic!

Can't wait to see the rest when you get a chance.

Did you read any of "the book"!

Thanks folks

Moobli - I've read most of it now albeit in chunks and not in correct order LOL

Rune - Terry Nutkins. I was sad when he passed away recently. Not everybody knows that Gavin Maxwell (of Ring of Bright Water etc) became his legal Guardian when he was young. Sandaig (Maxwell's Camusfearna) is a great place to visit with the dogs.

Polarbear - A lovely place. All taken from the shore of the cottage we go to at Loch Sunart.

As well as the otters and seals we get visits from Deer, Pine Martens, Mink and overhead Golden Eagles and White Tailed Sea Eagles although we drew a blank with the Sea Eagles this time.
