Steam Cleaner for ceramic kitchen floor

Any of you use a steam cleaner on ceramic floors ? or do you all get down on your hands and knees ?

Are they any good, and what brands do you recommend ?

Can you use one of those carpet cleaner things on a hard floor ?

Not sure of the technical term - like an upright hoover that has water in it.

We're cleaning the carpets today (after the chocolate vomit etc) and wondered if it would do quarry tiles ????

Part of job is to clean floors every week...wooden, ceramic, vinyl, carpet.

On my ceramic floors, I use a buffing machine with a scrubbing brush attachment. I 'trigger spray' cleaning solution onto the floor and then scrub away. I then suck up the residue with a wet-vac.

I hired an industrial steam cleaner to clean the kids toilets, but I wasn't very impressed. It made a lot of steam (obviously), made the floor very wet, but didn't clean the muck off that I intended it to clean.

Well, I have a Bissell Oxy Pro which does hard flloors as well as carpets, it does a great job on carpets, and I have used it on the tiles in the conservatory, it cleaned them a treat but leaves the floor too wet, so you still have to use the mop afterwards to mop up if you follow me
