Hello,
It was my first trip on a bus with my new artifical limb, I didn't know if I could cope with getting on and more importantly being able to walk down the aisle when the bus was moving to get off at my stop. I did it though.

I think it might be best if I elaborate on what I meant in my previous post.

Why is it such a big thing:-
When you have your own foot, you can feel if it is on the ground and on firm ground at that. When you have a artifical limb, you can't feel the ground,can't feel any bumps etc, so you could actually put your foot onto a marble, ball etc and never know until you are flat on your back with proabably a broken limb and may be some broken bones. Also when you are walking, your ankle moves to accomodate different angles in the path, different heights of paving stones etc, but in an artifical limb it doesn't do the job too well, so you have to watch all the time where you are walking otherwise you'll end up causint injury to yourself.
