Well it won't cure the head on the lap, but I have a bathroom mat ( rubber backed ) under my dog bowl that I got from Homebase.

Actual reason that I bought it is to stop the bowls from sliding on the floor, but as the one cat likes to play pat a cake in the water bowl , it mops that up too !

Mine don't have drippy jowls but Zane is the only one who doesn't drip and slobber all over the place (people included). He and Tashi are very "clean" drinkers.

OTOH yiannis and Jenzi in particular will get a mouthfull of water and just empty it onto the kichen floor. Then the come into the living room and wipe their mouths on the leg of whoever it sitting closest to the door (great table manners ).

Sorry, don't have any suggestions other than telling people not to wear their best clothes when they visit. Or maybe you could tell them Woody is just trying to share??!!

I've put a cheap mat underneath my water bowl, but even then, it gets soaked around that mat so I have a tea towel there too which I can just use my foot on to take up the worst as they walk away.......and continue to dribble it all across the kitchen floor I've also resorted to a huge pudding basin type water bowl, because that way, with it half filled, it can't splash over the top like a normal small water bowl. The bucket which preceeded that always got knocked over, so this big pudding basin is really heavy (and cheap!).
