If we are just talking English DDA then I wouldnt consider any dog on the banned list as bull breeds/mastiffs do not float my boat.

If we are talking RoI then i'd own a dobe and a RR.

I don't as a rule agree with breed bans but I do think the breeds in question (UK not Ireland) are specialist dogs and I would not be up to owning one even if it were legal.

None of them are dogs I would like to own personally. I don't have a problem with them but they just aren't my kind of dogs.

i'd like one of each But i would have to say maybe japanese tosa as they are quite a rare breed outside of Japan.

Not so sure on the Brazillian Mastiff, I know a lot to this day are still bred for their aggressive-human traits. Wheras the Tosa is a "wrestling dog" and used more for dog fighting than attacking humans.

Can i be greedy and just have one of each?

I am one of those people that really do think that the law needs amedning, i mean Dogos really don't deserve to be on the list, and neither do pitbulls... it just causes to much confusion on what is defined as a pitbull and what dogs can be seized and killed like poor Lennox

Dogos are cute mind....... Anybody else read the book "oogie" - I would definitely recommend it! Bought many tears to my eyes. Will make you see Dogos in a different light.

I don't normally like those gladiator type dogs as it's LGDs and spitz/primitive breeds that float my boat, but I have a huge soft spot for pitbulls. They are great dogs in the right hands and have a very much undeserved reputation. I have known personally and known of many more who are the sweetest dogs imaginable.

The DDA is a farce as why ban something like a dogo or tosa and allow in cane corse, presa canaria, bully kutta and endless other large breeds with a similar purpose and nature who, more importantly than their breed, attract more than their fair share of the wrong kind of owners and breeders? I think the only one that deserves to be on there is the fila brasiliera as by all accounts not a dog you want on the streets in the hands of chavs due to it's unique temperament.

It's crazy to think that I could not own a dobe if I lived in a Dublin City Council house/flat.

I actually prefer the look of the APBT to the staffys if I'm honest (sorry!) not sure if I would get one though.

theres the DDA then there is Dublin City Council who have banned the breeds from their homes and council owned areas etc etc

Thats why so many dobes started coming from Ireland....but of course a lot of dogs were PTS (unnecessarily) from the breeds on the list...people faced homelessness etc
