Monthly dog magazines

Does anyone subscribe to any of the monthly Dog mags?

I quite like flicking through a magazine at times, rather than sitting down to concentrate on a book and would be interested to know whether any of the magazines are worth subscribing to.

I used to have a subscription to Dogs Today and think it is a great magazine. I think they are more forward thinking than the rest of the mags and have really interesting articals on positive training methods, behaviour, diet, etc as well as the usual competitions etc.

I was a moderator on the DT forum when it first started up and, as a perk, I still get the magazine for free. Unfortunately it is sent to my old address, where my sister now lives, so I will have to encourage her to save the mags and bring them up when she comes.

Btw - I am really looking forward to learning more about your positive training methods and success rates on the Mic Martin thread - or I wonder if I should start a new discussion which may encourage a wider audience participation?

I used to have Your Dog. What I will say is that after about a year the articles begin to repeat a little in content.I have kept all the ones I had but am beginning to wonder about getting rid of them as i don't dip in as much now Fudge is all grown up.

I have found that too Fudgeley. I used to get DT monthly and also bought a number of the others as and when I felt like it, and kept them all in a box in the attic. I never looked at them again, so they eventually went to the recycle bin!

My subscription to Dogs Today has just ended . It's a good magazine, I haven't renewed it yet as I was wondering if I should subscribe to another one. I find that the content does get a little repetitive after a while. I still like it coming through the door and reading it though so I probably will renew it.

I love reading your dog but I'm not subscribed (might be soon). This thread is making me think I should try Dogs Today!

The only one I've tried is Dogs Monthly which I picked up at Heathrow a couple of weeks ago.

I liked it - not read any others to compare it to though!

I used to get, Your Dogs, Dogs Today, Dog World & Our Dogs,Aswhile as Specialised Publications, DTW & Obedience info. Howver i think with the internet as it is they are almost redundant. Sadly OB Info had to close down due to the ill Health, so now i just get DTW (dog Training Weeking) a Obedience Magazine.

Like Mish I used to get loads of magazines but find that I get all I need from the internet now.

Did get DTW for a while but there were never many Scottish show reports
