Small dog wanted (updated)

A lady a work has asked me to find a small dog for her in laws. They are in thier early 70's. Fit and healthy and live in Devon so, it needs to be in that area or Cheshire so Julie can take it to them. I can vouch for them as good owners and they have had dogs before. They can also get a reference from their vet.

Must be cat friendly as they have an elderly cat that sleeps on their bed.
Between the ages of 3 and 10.
Small enough to fit on your lap !! LOL
No colour or any particular looks preference.
Mongrel if possible though with a gentle nature.
IMMEDIATE HOME WAITING.

It could be a good idea to have a look on the many tears rescue site. They have many many dogs looking for homes, and are mainly based in South Wales I think.
Some of their dogs are ex-breeding dogs, so bare in mind they may not have been socialised with cats and i know that a lot of their ex-breeding dogs they do like to mix with an existing dog in the household.
However... They still have some very gorgeous small dogs on there, which are in desperate need of a really lovely home just as you are describing.

Now I did see one which caught my attention, it is young (only 9 months. But a chihuhua cross Pom named Buddie) He is apparently polite and well mannered, and walks lovely on the lead.

I saw another one Puff (though it does not say it can go with cats or not)
Puff is a 10 month old small mixed terrier. - So bare that in mind with cats.
Puff was rescued from being put to sleep with his sister, and can be nervous when first meeting people. He is the more confident out of the two, and is looking for a home. Both are great with other dogs, but are looking to be homed seperatly where they can be given lots of time and love.

Prezzie also... He looks gorgeous a westie mix. He is 3 years old and is apparently a favourite at many tears as he is always so happy and eager to meet people.

There are so many dogs i can't actually go through them. But i'm falling in love...

Have a good look, see if there is any that might be suitable. You may have to check with many tears if they are suitable to live with a cat. It could help if the cat has experience of living with a calm dog.

Ok a puppy may be a bit much... But the many tears site does have a lab cross possible spaniel 9 weeks being fostered in ilfracombe devon.
It probably won't be suited to the owners as we all know its going to be a bundle of energy. But thought i would throw that in.

I wish I had not looked.... There is a really gorgeous bullmastiff on there! Why oh why... Now if there was a Saint Bernard that would be it. Mine... All Mine...
